ABOUT ME & MY EXPERIENCE

-Why should I hire you over any of the other freelance artists out there?

Because I’ll take the time to communicate often with you, updating you each step of the way about your projects, and will make sure that it turns out the way you want it. I find that if I communicate with my clients clearly from the start, and find out exactly what they want, there’s less chance they’ll want multiple revisions. However, I stress my client’s happiness with the final project, because that is incredibly important to me, so I’m willing to do whatever it takes to ensure that it fits their vision. Because I do most of my work digitally, I’m able to make quick changes and alterations, so if you have a suggestion, it doesn’t take me a lot of time to redo it.

-You say you’re a Disney-trained artist. What does that mean?

I was trained and coached in character drawing (by talented artists who have worked with animation giants like Fox Animation and Nickelodeon) at Disney, where I worked as an artist in the Animation Academy at Disney’s California Adventure. There, I taught various classes on how to illustrate classic characters like Mickey and his friends, Pooh, Tigger, and Jack Skellington. It required a good eye for detail and the ability to perfectly replicate the famous characters in the form of a pencil sketch. In addition to this, I also led informational tours and activities about the history of animation and the instruction of the animation process through the Youth Education Series at the Disneyland Resort.

-Did you go to art school?

Yes, I have attended many different art classes in figure drawing, color composition, and animation at various universities like Cal State Northridge and Cal State Fresno, and am currently completing my Bachelor’s degree in Media Art & Animation at the Art Institute. However, I’ve been drawing all of my life, and like to take various tutorials in new techniques all the time, so you can be sure that I’m up-to-date on the newest skills and programs in the industry!

-It looks like you mostly do character design and illustration. I have a professional business ad that needs to be designed. Can you do graphic design?

That’s an emphatic YES! Throughout my school and work career, I’ve had to learn many different graphics programs like Photoshop, InDesign, Flash, Publisher, Powerpoint, etc. I’ve designed professional graphics, slides, and publications for large organizations, as well as retouched photos for professional photographers. Also, it’s a hobby of mine to take on personal projects like designing wedding invitations and business cards for family and friends, so you can be sure that I’m familiar with this kind of work. Though most of my portfolio shows illustration examples, my graphic design examples are growing each day.

-You say you have a background in the entertainment field. Can you elaborate?

Sure. I’ve enjoyed performing in theater since I was a kid, and have been in shows like “Grease,” “Seussical,” “Into the Woods,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “My Fair Lady” with schools,  amateur groups, professional dinner theaters, and children’s theater companies. I have also taught drama camp and created sets, costumes, and makeup designs for various productions around the Fresno area. Professionally, I have also been an entertainer at both Universal Studios Hollywood (as a studio tour guide) and at the Disneyland Resort (performing as the “mom” in the Dream House and a presenter at Innoventions). These experiences mean that I have an extensive knowledge of performers and their needs, and can work with your theater/entertainment company to bring in the crowds! I love designing posters, programs, costumes, and makeup, and have been commended for my contributions there in the past.

In addition, I also do voiceover work for local radio dramas and animated projects. I can also assist you with casting voice talent as needed for your project, as I have a network of talented actors to choose from.
